As a nation, Losing our self-worth

There once was a time, when Americans were clear about who they were. The goals each of us shared closely resembled each others and becouse of that, we were beholden to each other. In truth, Our values were strong, worth fighting for, and if need be dieing for. Becouse if somebody could take MY freedoms from me, then what was there to stop them from taking them from you? That, in and of itself, was the soladatity, the saftey net that secured our freedoms our very reason for being American.

But over time, Those freedoms have been eroded from both sides, there is no longer the protection the strength of our self-imposed government provided. And in truth, there is no interest in protecting those who swore to protect us. Many Americans feel that there is no point. That Coruptionan and scandel have over-run so much that the only thing we can do is to protect oneself. The Hell with everybody else.

Why should we stick our neck out for an ideal, for a beleif when those very beleifs are being ripped from us so forcefully?

It is the very ideal that drove the Confedarcy to try and secede from the union.

For me, I beleived that what the government of this country was doing in beating back our enemies was just. That most everybody was on the same page and those that wern't would soon be. But something opened my eyes to our weakness.

When the Former Iran president Mohammed Khatami visited Harvard and praised the efforts of those this country had deemed the enemy, it broke my heart. Why on earth and in Heaven, whould the State Department the USA as a whole allow this? For me, It harkens to the whole Illegal Immigration issue.

Why must we as American Citizens watch as these folks come to this country and get better benifits from OUR goverenment than we do? It has gone on so long and so broadly, that we just don't care anymore. and that is sad.

The answer, unfortunately is that our goverenment is pandering to these folks, creating a self imposed Fifth Column. They hope that by giving them what they want, they will increase their own stature and extend their own carrers without a single thought to the well being or continued survival of our own people. They just like everyone else are looking out for themselves.

The same thing happened with Mohammed Khatami. President Bush hoped to extend an olive leaf to Iran through this action. Somehow hoping to make Iran see that we are a peaceloving and free people and by doing so, Increase his own stature with the american people.

The American people are strong. The system that we have created WORKS, if those that work the system do so for ITS beneift and not their own. Just look at what has happened to those Muslims on that plane. They KNEW that the system has been weakened by all of this and wished to exploit it for their own beneift, But, thankfully it didn't work becouse Americans and not their goverenment are still the ones that have the final say in our own destiny. Does that mean I am anti-USA or Anti Bush? Absolutly not! They are our heads of state and as such the chairs they occupy must be respected. Even if they don't respect them themselves.

It will take time for us to fully realise what we need to do, even though the answers are stareing us right in the face. The left and the right must come together. We must stop the hate and realise these problems are not the results of one mans actions. we created these proplems by letting this situation fester for far to long. But I have faith that in the end, we will all stand up for ourselves and take back what has been ours for so long, our land and our freedoms. And when we do, the Islmaofacists will slink back in their little holes like the rats they have become.

A Fifth Column is defined as a clandestine group or faction of subversive agents who attempt to undermine a nation's solidarity by any means at their disposal. A cardinal technique of the fifth column is the infiltration of sympathizers into the entire fabric of the nation under attack and, particularly, into positions of policy decision and national defense. From such key posts, fifth-column activists exploit the fears of a people by spreading rumors and misinformation.

Clandestine: Kept or done in secret, often in order to conceal an illicit or improper purpose.

Soladatity: A union of interests, purposes, or sympathies among members of a group; fellowship of responsibilities and interests.
